I hired the Juce box, a little Daihatsu sirion 1.3 - I wasnt expecting much after my usual 1.8 estate.... but even loaded full of gear and food I have to say the car was excellent and got us around a lot of the south island including some rather hairy gravel roads and very steep bits. Hi, we have hired from you for the past 4 years and every time have been pleased with your service and products. We took one of your Previa vans up the ski field with over a quarter of a tank of fuel but had to return fron half way up due to the fuel not being pumped from the tank. returning to the car park at the base we paid for a shuttle back up, the shuttle driver was of the opinion it was a well known fact that these vans require half a tank of fuel when climbing steeper inclines. It may pay to inform customers of this at time of booking. I realise this is a possible "fault" with these vehicles and beyond your control. We will be booking with you next year, thanks Keith Allan

Hello there, I have rented a jucy van for 3 weeks from Auckland to Christchurch. The members of Jucy were quick to give me my van and to take it back, quite helpful before I began the trip. I am happy about the company. Concerning the car, it costs me a lot of petrol (the car is quite "hungry" for fuel because it was a bit old...), but it was a good way to tour around New Zealand and to stop wherever and whenever I wanted. Hi, Overall I was happy with our rental vehicle. I wasn't initially but your staff member soon rectified the problem. The only thing we had problems with was the snow chains. We were caught in the snow and had to extend our Jucy rental for two days, and return the car to Christchurch instead of Dunedin. The daihatsu that I hired over the weekend was great and exceeded my expectations! The only improvement I think could be made is to make it very clear via e-mail correspondence what the access code is. We were told it was the last four digits of the reservation number. However, after trying that code and it didn't work, we (luckily had it printed out with us!) tried the confirmation number which did work. Having two lots of numbers (one reservation, one confirmation) was confusing. Apart from that, all was well! Thanks Allan Smith

For NZ the little elcheapo nissan sunny with our own tent was perfect! Because free camping is rare and frowned upon in general in the South Island, NZ, saving money on car rental (sedan was MUCH cheaper than a camper) helped make our trip affordable. You basically have to pay camping fees each night anyway, so may as well use the camp kitchens and tent it as well... Sedan was better on fuel and long and winding roads too! what a great little car our el cheapo was it never missed a beat. and because it had a few scratches an bumps in it you didnt have the worry of being the first one to do it. and i must commend the boy who did our paperwork on the first day there because our bank talked us into getting a cash passport card and it was no good for leaving a deposit on the car an we had left all our other cards at home, but because we had taken out full insurance he let us use it, and that small act of kindness saved our holiday. thanks again jucy see you next time and will recomend you to all our friends. p.s we are going to western australia next year do you have offices over there ??? bob & rhonda

Dear Jucy, I fopund you were easy to deal with, and your staff seemed kind and generous. The design of the "crib" is fantastic, the bed is truly comfortable! I suggestion is to add a recycling container, or drawstring recycling back. It otherwise becomes (too) tempting to throw out all rubbish unseparated, as space in a crib, of course, is at a premium. You guys have really got your act together this year! Last Christmas we had long waits to be picked up at airport and to be given our car. We also encountered grumpy, non-smiling staff last year. We were nervous this year because we needed to be on our way to an important ceremony as soon as we landed. Well, your service was fantastic. Jucy Chaser was great, had everything we could need. It powered up the hills really well & all the amenities worked well. Some better pillows would have made our nightimes more comfortable; ours were flat, old & a bit pathetic. But otherwise it was well equipped. The van had power to overtake all the other campervans (which we loved) and everything was so easy. I did 1000plus kms during this period and only problem was a screw through a tyre-but superb assistance via telephone and problem was sorted within an hour. I picked-up my car in auckland and dropped-off in queenstown. Everything was easy and fast. I'm from brazil and didn't need a international driver license as the embassy said. The car was a 2003 sunny nissan and have 70k km. But everything was good. The only problem i had was a low tyre after 1000km. After the air it was good... The gps is a little old and doesn't have the same ammenities like in US. Except the adress, is hard to find other places like market, laundry,... Renato

Car was clean & tidy and travelled well, did notice a clicking noise (transmission?) when we made a turn though. What a solid performer my El Cheapo Toyota Hiace was for the 10 days we spent together. Loved the fridge, and a small thing but having the towel warmer meant that you don't travel with moist mangey smelly towels and also does a nice job on the tea towel and the washed up smalls as well. Diesel petrol helped a lot with the $$'s and the microwave oven was my friend. Bit of a squeeky audio machine - but El Cheapo doesn't mean Rolls Royce now does it! All dealings with Jucy were great. Stayed in the hotel in Auckland which is well located and was nice a quiet. All good. Thanks

I really enjoyed traveling around in my little Toyota Hiace van for 2 weeks. He was old but very reliable and got me from A to B every day. Together we covered 2,000 Kms in just two weeks!! Saw some wonderful sights and met some lovely people. Jucy were good - there was a problem with my booking and they sorted it out over the phone straight away. I would use them and their vans again. And they are not really expensive like some campervan companies.

Really catchy to the eye, the colours are great and the fact that you use 'Lucy' as the central character - one person who represents the whole company - is fantastic. Out of all the car hire companies, Jucy is really the one that stands out to be young, fresh, value for money and trustworthy. I think your brand is an absolute winner! The service when we picked up our vehicle was fantastic from the girl at the Christchurch airport branch. Very informative and helpful.... The GPS we had was not good - it was old and didn't stick to the windscreen after the first day. It was touchy and sometimes didn't work.... i think it's prob due to be replaced. Also the budget car we hired needs a wheel alignment as it very badly veers to the left if you take your hands off the steering wheel and when you turn the car to the right it makes a noise. But I reported this to Jucy so they're going to have a look at it. But all in all, I had an amazing expereince with Jucy and will be recommending them to my friends every time. thank you! We would suggest if one has a lot of baggage not to hire a Susuki Swift as the boot is very small and only one large suitcase fits in. Hi, We thought the JUCY rental was great. Only one small problem we had was the fact that we asked for an EL CHEAPO which was a Nissan Sunny or similar from Auckland airport. We were told this was not available and that a dearer option, the nissan pulsar or similar was available. When we arrived to collect the car, we were actually given the Nissan Sunny, but charged at the higher rate. This was the only problem we had with the service, other than that we thought it was great. We will certainly consider using your company again in the future.

All in all a great experience! There seemed to be a great camaraderie among fellow juicy renters which I'd like to see juicy capitalize on by encouraging a bigger social network between campers! There's less social interaction with a camper compared to that of a bus or hostel which can be the only negative aspect! It would be great if you could have organized jucy events around the country which allowed renters to mix in a social environment! This could be done through cheap meal/drink deals in various pubs/parks etc. There already is a discussion topic-I.e. Jucy so why not concentrate on it and make it s more fun experience for the customer!

Hi Juicy Team Recently my partner Adam and I rented a Juicy Chaser for 9 days to explore Queenstown and Wanaka in all it's Winter glory. Unfortunately our flight to Queenstown got diverted to Christchurch at the last minute due to bad weather, and we were promptly left in the lurch by the airline who offered us absolutely no assistance with accommodation or further transport to get to our final destination. On our trip to Queenstown last week, we were left by our airline in Christchurch. They provided us with no help in organising our onward travel to Queenstown, and told us we had no chance of organising a bus, rental car or accommodation in Christchurch due to the All Blacks game. We hired an el cheapo for 16 days. The car went very well. No problems. vehicle clean and well maintained. Very affordable and reliable option. Would certainly do it again and recommend to others. Ski pass was a great saving too.

hello all,,,,,,,,, just finished a relocation from christchurch to auckland, I was a bit scared because my experience from hiring cars and returning them is that the company looks for faults and finds a way to bill you much more than expected. BUT JUCY DID IT BETTER I was given 5 days but only paid for 4 days insurance incase I was back early. But I took the 5 days to deliver. There was an issue at the ferry in picton, but JUCY refunded the costs in FULL, I traveled 2700 kilometres even though the distance is only 1300 kilometres.. SO MY FEELING is that JUCY IS a fantastic company that treats us all like friends using the family car. I was so impressed by there servise and that JAMES the Auckland manager fully understood me and the trip we had.. So anyone one involved with JUCY, dont think that your getting squeezed.. STAY JUCY

The vehicle was easily available and the staff catered extremely well with our many phone calls as we attempted to get back on track. Last week we took a splendid tour of Northland and the Waitomo Caves in our Jucy Cruiza. This was our first tour of the North Island, and we found the camper van was definitely the perfect way to do it. There is an abundance of options for electricity-supplied camp sites on route (which you will need to charge the battery that powers your van's microwave, fridge and dvd player). These sites were all under $20 per person, and the "Top 10" sites were especially clean and convenient in terms of amenities, locations and overall comfort. We are already looking forward to our next holiday in the camper van. Our experience with the Jucy company itself is also very positive. The van we chose had everything we wanted at a very competitive rate, and with the raised ceiling they are quite roomy for 2 adults. The easy-to-put-together bed, the warm duvets, and fan heater also made for a very comfortable sleep. (We were traveling during winter, so the heater came in handy on the occasional evening.) You are also bound to run into other Jucy renters along the way, which worked out great for exchanging the dvd's we had already watched. The only drawback of the model of van we rented was that it was an older model, and had very few 'guts' on the highway (you wouldn't dare attempt to pass anyone). Next time we will opt for one of the newer models if possible, as we have been told by other renters that these handle much better on the highways. Finally, getting on the road as well as checking back in were a breeze with the fantastic service we had. Mitch at the Auckland airport branch got us set up to go, and his thorough yet casual and friendly tutorial on all of the aspects of the van was appreciated. He was in general extremely courteous and helpful. If he has not already received a promotion recently, we think he is due for another. Checking back in at the end of our trip was also very straightforward, and we were promptly shuttled to our airport terminal in time for our flight home. Thanks Jucy!

We had so much fun tripping around the South Island in our Jucy van, cant wait to get back and do it all over again..loved the ski for free lift passes, snowboarding at treble cone on blue sky days was ace and for free! Sweet..the only bit that wasnt so good was only one duvet in the van and the first night we parked up in Lake Tekapo surrounded by the most amazing landscapes and snowcapped mountains but woke up absolultely freezing so spent the rest of the trip in hotels..were stoked the van has a big petrol tank we drove for miles through the mountains with the petrol light on and no gas stations in sight for miles but we managed to make it, we were thinking we were going to have to park it and hitch for quite a while there.lucky! Hiring the car was no trouble. However I did lose the key at my mother's and after an hour of searching decided I must have locked it in the boot so called in the AA man to break in. Alas I had not locked it in the car. Another hour of searching before I located it in an obscure drawer. I did not put it there myself and in the absence of small children could only conclude that my 89 year old mother tidied it away and then forgot about it. or was she trying to prevent me leaving?

Your staff were friendly and eager to connect in conversation (even though I was cautious and not so eager!) but.. the young man who picked me up from the airport was a gem, sanguine in personality with an outgoing happy presentation, explaining what he was going to do and where we were going. The lady who did all the paperwork was precise, to the point, and processed everything in a about 5 mins if that! The car as I said was perfect, I think I did around 400klms and the car was marvellous. I have nothing but praise for Juicy!!! We had an amazing time on the South Island with our Jucy camper! 2500km in 2 weeks isnt a bad effort! We had no problems at all, slightly cramped but we were never in it except from driving and sleepin...too much to do and so little time! The vouchers for Hanmer Springs and Milfor Sound that came with the camper were great aswell. I especially liked it when we passed other Jucy campers (you cant miss them!) and they would give you a wave! Ill definately be renting again!

Hi there, Our vehicle request was for small and cheap so when we were picked up in Christchurch and given a Daihatsu (royal sneeze) Sirion we were well pleased. This little car was great for two and the odd passenger we had said he had plenty of room in the back as well. The car seemed to run on fresh air so after a week of driving cost us very little to fill on return. There is however one small tip which could benefit similarly ' blonde' renters that staff take the time to tell and or show how and where stuff is on the dash such as the fuel gauge. We found this quite disconcerting not knowing how much gas we had left and not being familiar with newer and varied vehicles. Otherwise a great deal all round and we would definately use Juicy again. The Chaser is brilliant - wish you had had it when we rented a Cruiza off you last year. When are you lovely people going to shake up the camper rental business over here in Oz?

We just got home after 31 days in NZ touring both islands We were really pleased with your company and the cheapie car you provided, a Nissan Sunny 2002 with around 200K on the clock.

All of the people we dealt with both on delivery (Christchurch) and on return (Auckland) were friendly and very helpful and informative and a credit to your company.

The car didn't miss a beat, had plenty of power, more than adequate boot space, good heaters and aircon and given its age was quite well presented.

Bonus- it was an automatic. Over 4 weeks of fairly punishing driving often 400km per day it averaged just 8.3 litres/100km over 4200 km Brilliant!

Bonus - several really useful vouchers especially Milford Sound and the hole in the rock and we settled on half price for the Cook straight
crossing (slightly miffed!) - big big savings There were other vouchers offered too, which we did not use (too old and too chicken for bungee jumping and white water) We also hired chains. As it turned out, we did not need to use them, though we needed to carry them on the range ridge road to Wanaka We have recommended Jucy to several friends Apparently according to my wife we are coming back again soon. We will have no hesitation using your company again.

Thanks for the note - I should have told them that we left them in there on purpose. We purchased a selection of CD's on our travels and found that some of them were not worth bringing home! If you can find a home for them please do so - or otherwise please just throw them away.

Many thanks for providing the car for our holiday - it was great. Not a bit of trouble and the whole booking, pick-up and drop-off procedure couldn't have been better. I've already told several people about this, and will continue to recommend you to anyone visiting NZ.

Hey Clair.

Just want to thank you so much for organizing my Jucy car for IMNZ. The ladies at the pick up place at the airport were lovely - and a very helpful lass set up my little Nav-man and I got to Taupo super easy - and then made the trip back to the airport (leaving Taupo at midnight) with just as much ease - I LOVE THE SAT-NAV LADY - SHE ROCKS - despite being a little bossy at times.

It was great - thanks again.

Oh, and I had a fantastic race!

Hi Jucy crew,

Just a quick note to say thanks for the great service we had in Christchurch with our rental. We had the car, (an el cheapo) for ten days, no problems with either the booking or the service or the car!
I've had a few rentals over the years,some okay, others not, but we'll definetly use Jucy next time we need a rental (usually when we visit family in the South Island).

Hello Tim,

I am writing to you after a wonderful holiday that I have had in New Zealand after my son and daughter who had similar experience from Jucy motorhomes. My son was in your motorhome in April 2008 and my daughter on her honeymoon in December 2007.

The Toyota we were given had over 150,000 km on odometer but it went like a saloon car with a lot lower reading on speedometer. We had no trouble at all and we did about 3,000km. So can I say full marks for reliability.

I must particularly convey my gratitude to Khiran Huston (Jucy Rates and website manager). Khiran has been very courtliest and managed to make our trip very enjoyable. We did not realize that the weather would turn so cold at night and we were delighted that we were provided with blow heater. It was extremely useful. As the room is limited in van we requested for 2 quilts which were provided by Denise and Raj and that meant we could keep our luggage in between the beds covered by ply wood with pillows on them so we could use it as a seat. As we were in camp sites we did not use shower and the toilet was handy in the middle of the night as emergency for short calls.

We will be visiting New Zealand as well as Australia and no doubt will hire again from Jucy and hope that we get same standard of service.

Once again many thanks for making it such a happy holiday for us.
