Treble Cone is the largest ski area in the South Island and has the longest vertical rise in the region. If that isn’t awesome enough to make you pack up your board bag and hop on a flight faster than you can say SKI4FREE, Treble Cone also has a seriously spectacular view of Lake Wanaka.
The long (un-crowded) slopes are groomed to perfection and the legendary off-piste terrain makes it a great spot for skiers and boarders to be a little more adventurous!
Treble Cone’s season runs from 27 June – 22 September 2019 and from 9am every day you have access to two chairlifts and views overlooking that oh-so-beautiful Lake Wanaka. Mother Nature has taken care of the terrain sculpting fun gullies, wide faces and exciting undulating runs, offering snow lovers of all levels plenty of options.
The closest JUCY branch is Queenstown Airport. From here it’s just a 90-minute drive to Treble Cone or an hour to Wanaka over the breath-taking Crown Range. But our epic SKI4FREE deal is still valid from wherever you pick up those JUCY wheels, including our friendly Auckland Airport, Auckland City, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin branches
Just remember, there is no accommodation on the slopes at Treble Cone but heaps of choices in nearby Wanaka or surrounding areas, including Queenstown.
TRAVELLING QUEENSTOWN and Wanaka IN WINTER
Make sure you know what to expect when travelling New Zealand in winter. Driving to the mountain can have its challenges. It is important to stay aware of bad weather and road conditions and look out for fog and ice on the roads (particularly early in the morning and at night). Stay safe on the road this winter and make sure you take your snow chains with you. You might be fined for not fitting them when required!
If you're hiring a campervan, be prepared for the adventure that is winter camping. We recommend staying in campgrounds with power hookups over winter, so you can stay cosy. Hot showers are also a welcome treat after skiing!
